No. Although we also have designs that do cover mom's nipple (like a nipple shield), our aim is to make the breastfeeding experience as close to natural as possible. Our product allows the mom's nipple to be in direct contact with the nursing baby's mouth.

The mom, fills the supplement (formula or pumped milk) into Presque’s proprietary disposable bag. She places it into the bra, connecting it to the Presque’s novel simulated areola nipple complex (or SANC for short). The rest is up to the baby.

In contrast to other nursers which are gravity driven, the Presque bra delivers the supplement in response to baby’s suckling at mom’s breast while simultaneously breastfeeding. Its unique design also controls supplement flow, delivering it only if needed.

As a smart product, the Presque bra will fight against PIM (perceived insufficient milk) by monitoring breast milk volume, so that you, baby’s mom, know exactly how much milk you are supplying to your baby, placing the decision to supplement in your informed hands.

The Presque bra disrupts the downward bottle feeding spiral by delivering supplement in response to baby’s suckling at mom’s breast while simultaneously breastfeeding, enabling the stimulation of milk production she needs to continue or increase breastfeeding.

Presque's unique patented simulated areola nipple complex (or SANC), allows supplement from the bag to flow through tiny channels which terminate in small apertures (or openings) which are pre-formed in the outer ring of the SANC. The baby's mouth covers these tiny apertures.

When mom wears the Presque bra with the SANC, her natural nipple extends out of the central opening of the SANC which allows the baby to also nurse from her breast.

The Presque system includes:

The bra of course is reusable. The SANC, just like a regular bottle nipple can be used several times. We spent a lot of design time to make sure that it can be thoroughly cleanable between uses in order to keep the cost down. The bags are disposable and only good for one time use in order to keep it sanitary.

Presque smart system can collect data, and if the user chooses, such data may be anonymously aggregated to help research. For example, Presque smart system enables collection of objective data about perceived insufficient milk (PIM), currently only based on maternal perceptions.

The data the system collects, can recognize patterns and trends, and help identify issues across (sub-)populations. This in turn will be useful in large-scale newborn health initiatives to increase healthy breastfeeding behavior.
